Nitin Katiyar completes charity cycle ride

Congratulations to Nitin Katiyar our Acoustic Consultant and the rest of the “Parakeets” for recently completing a 900 mile charity cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats, in just ten days, in order to raise money for two great charities.

On the 14th June 2013 Nitin and the team set off on the 874 mile journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats, cycling up to 110 miles a day in order to reach their goal. The Parakeets, named after the resident flock in Richmond Park – one of the popular training spots for the group, completed the cycle in just ten days arriving at John O’Groats on the 23rd June. So far they have raised over £11,000 including Gift Aid for the two charities Mildmay and Little Aid. Mildmay is a HIV organisation working in the UK and East Africa rehabilitating patients with complex HIV related conditions and supporting care and treatment along with awareness programmes such as training and counselling. Little Aid works to help people affected by the war in Sri Lanka through education and medical support empowering local people to make a difference to their communities.

The team would like to thank everyone who donated helping them raise a greater total than their initial £8,000 target and for the amazing support team who travelled alongside the group providing assistance and refreshments throughout the entirety of the trip.
