Addiscombe Environmental Consultants Limited

The Building Act 1984 specifies the regulations under which all new building plans in the UK are governed. Approval must be attained at the planning stage before work on a development can begin.

Currently the building regulations are separated into 14 different sections, each of which is accompanied by a document that sets out the legislation for that section and lists a number of requirements which must be satisfied in order to gain it’s approval. Approved Document E is the section devoted to a building’s ‘Resistance to the passage of sound’ and this is something which AECL are accredited by the Association of Noise Consultants to assist with. We can carry out sound insulation testing to Approved Document E.

  • For more information on Approved Document E in relation to our services as environmental consultants please take a look at the Sound Insulation Testing service page.
  • If you would like to download a copy of Approved Document E please click here.

Please contact us with any questions you may have on Approved Document E or to discuss a quotation for sound insulation testing.
