As environmental consultants specialising in services related to noise and vibration AECL offer clients their expertise and experience in all aspects of noise measurement and monitoring, planning for new developments and creating noise control solutions. The company has been in constant growth since 2004 working alongside clients on international-scale projects whilst retaining the flexibility and efficient response of a smaller, dynamic firm.
Addiscombe Environmental Consultants Ltd use the very latest noise meter and vibration measurement instrumentation allowing noise surveys to be conducted in the most cost-effective, rapid and efficient manner. For more details on the services we provide please use the links to the left. We have listed below the scenarios in which a noise meter might be used as part of our work.
- In construction – ongoing construction activities may require noise levels to be monitored to demonstrate compliance with noise or vibration limits. Long-term noise level can be assessed via unattended and attended monitoring.
- For industrial or commercial work – existing premises may require noise surveys to assess its impact surrounding residential or other noise sensitive receptors.
- In the workplace – an individual’s exposure to noise is regulated in the UK by the Noise at Work Regulations 2005. AECL can assess employee noise exposure, in terms of both noise level and duration, to ensure regulations are being adhered to and develop noise reduction solutions for those areas which require it.
- On petrochemical installations – noise measurements of installations are often required for a number of reasons, including determining compliance with noise limits. Our noise meter capabilities include monitoring both environmental noise levels, in-plant levels and determining equipment noise levels for individual equipment items. We utilise a broad range of noise meter equipment, which allows us undertake survey work in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
- In sound insulation testing – AECL are accredited by the Association of Noise Consultants to undertake sound insulation tests to Approved Document E which requires noise meter tests to be performed between horizontally and vertically separated pairs of rooms. Noise tests are both airborne . Results are then analysed according to the requirements of Approved Document E
- For transport noise – the very latest noise meter and vibration equipment is used to assess existing scenarios for noise modelling and mitigation options. Information gathered can be utilised in cases where new development is to introduced close to transportation noise sources.
