In our role as an environmental consultancy we are often commissioned to provide various services in relation to industrial noise. This page provides a brief summary of these services, and for ease we’ve split the service into three sections – for a more detailed look please read the Industrial Noise page.
Industrial Noise From Existing Industry
- Residential areas and other noise sensitive areas can be greatly affected by noise from industrial sites and processes.
- AECL provide noise level surveys to determine where control is necessary
- Advice on control is also provided where requested, and this can include analysis on which the most cost-effective methods are versus those with the greatest potential for benefit.
- We are able to provide expert witness accounts in defence against noise abatement notices for industrial noise.
Industrial Noise Potential In New Developments
- Legislation on planning new development dictates the need for an environmental impact assessments
- In some cases a permit is required under IPPC regulations, Addiscombe can assist here too.
- Prior to the onset of development baseline noise levels can be assessed via attended and unattended noise surveys
- Noise modelling then provides data on what the impact of the proposed development will have
- Noise control options are presented.
Impact of Industrial Noise On Personnel
- The safety of workers within industrial sites is impacted on by the noise of the plant processing.
- Noise impact assessments can be carried out on individual members of staff, groups of workers, or entire plant staff
